STORY

Faysal Shaqooli is a singer who originally hails from the town of Sibayê in southern Sinjar “Shingal” mountain, Iraq. As a child, he displayed a keen interest and talent in drawing and painting. In 2005, Shaqooli participated in an art gallery at the Shingal Cultural Center, showcasing his artistic abilities. His talent was recognized by the Lalish Center, which acknowledged him as one of the top artists in the entire Shingal territory.
While growing up in a farming family, Shaqooli also developed a passion for writing lyrics and composing melodies. One of his early compositions, "Evîna Te," was created in the year 2000 but recorded and released much later in 2021. Throughout his artistic journey, Shaqooli faced numerous challenges such as poverty, war, and difficult living conditions, which often hindered his progress.
However, everything changed for Shaqooli after he emigrated to the United States of America in 2012. After five years, he obtained US citizenship, and his financial situation improved significantly. In 2017, he officially began pursuing a career in music, shifting his focus from painting to singing. Since then, Shaqooli has released dozens of singles.
